Headteacher's Welcome Message

Welcome to Upwood Primary Academy!

Upwood is a one form entry school where children are encouraged to grow and flourish.  The staff at Upwood are welcoming and focused on helping children to be the best that they can be.  The children are polite and positive about their school and complimentary about the adults they work with.  I can see that everyone is proud to be part of Upwood!

I am excited to be the Head of School from September 2020.  I am looking forward to meeting more of the school community and being part of the Upwood team.

Our Facebook page gives you an insight of the children's learning; they enjoy sharing what they have been doing in school.

Please browse the website for any information about our school.  If you are unable to find the information you need, please do contact the school with the contact details on the website and someone will be happy to help you.

Our Vision and Mission Statement

We are proud to share both our Vision and our Mission Statement with members of the school community.  Our Vision is that:

Upwood Primary’s Vision

‘Small steps and large steps, but never standing still’

"Our vision is to have resilience and moral character to overcome challenges and succeed. Progress is important to us in everything we do; continuous progress enables us to become life-long learners with a love of knowledge and culture. Through a caring, positive learning environment we want to educate the next generation of informed citizens to make a difference in society: together we can make it happen."

 ‘Work hard, dream big’

Our Mission Statement was recently reviewed and rewritten by our School Councillors, in collaboration with our Governing Body:

"We take pride in everything we do, working hard to achieve high levels in every subject. We support people and befriend others; our school is kind and caring. We encourage each other to do our best and to persevere, and to have passion for all we do. We set high standards and we strive to be outstanding in everything."
